Chico’s Tex Mex to open its third location on LI, in Bohemia

|

More Chico’s Tex Mex is in the works for Long Island.

The popular Tex-Mex joint, founded by Shirley native Vinay Galani in 2020, is opening its latest outpost in Bohemia. It is set to open on Saturday, Feb. 3, at 1093 Smithtown Ave., the former home of Good Taste.

Known for its stuffed burritos and birria tacos, Galani started the company after running a taco food truck in Port Jefferson Station.

His first Chico’s opened in the summer of 2020 at 30 North Country Rd. in East Setauket. It has since moved to 244 Route 25A in East Setauket to make room for Strong Island Burgers, a collaboration between John Louis, who used to run Maui Chophouse in Rocky Point.

Galani, who has also owned cellphone businesses, began expanding the Chico’s concept in 2022, opening a location in Selden.

Now, he will have three locations.

“Growing up, I always loved tacos,” Galani previously told GLI. He mentioned that his number-one seller has been the street tacos.
