Hamptons home where Notorious B.I.G. shot ‘Juicy’ video back on the market

|

Update: We might now know why the “Island in the Sky” was deemed unsellable.

The homeowner declined to sell. That’s unless the seller gets an offer of at least $2,950,000.

According to the seller’s real estate attorney Larry Davis, the 12,000-square-foot home — which was the setting of Notorious B.I.G.’s “Juicy” music video — is back on the market.

The property at 984 and 984a Noyac Path was originally set to be sold off in an auction in January, but the homeowner turned down the offer, according to Davis’ office. It is unclear how much the offer was for.

“The seller of 984 and 984a Noyac Path chose not to sell at auction and will bring the estate home…back to market,” reads a statement emailed over by Davis’ office to greaterlongisland.com.

The house will be soon be re-listed by Angela Boyer of Stump of Sothebys International Real Estate, Greater Long Island has learned.

The price is still significantly less than its original $8 million price tag.

Original story

They said it wouldn’t sell. But Sotheby’s found a way.

A Hamptons home where the late Notorious B.I.G. recorded the music video for his mega hit single “Juicy” back in 1994 has sold at auction, according to numerous reports.

It’s significantly less than the $8 million asking price for the 12,000-square-foot home at 984 Noyac Path in Water Mill, a luxury estate surrounded by lush white-pine woods. The mansion, abound with feng shui influences, was designed by late Japanese sculptor Setsuo Ito.

He lived at the home from the time construction was completed in 1993 until he sold it in 2011.

Built on one of the East End’s highest elevations, the “Island in the Sky” home featured a unique, arrow-shaped pool and an open-air, two-tiered pyramid that allows for stunning, panoramic views with Peconic Bay and the Atlantic Ocean in full glory. Inside are five spacious bedrooms, five bathrooms, two half-bathrooms and all of the area-appropriate amenities.

Oozing with opulence, the property served as an ideal backdrop for The Notorious B.I.G.’s “Juicy.” In the video, the Brooklyn-born rapper performed poolside, amid a large group that included his longtime friend Sean “P. Diddy” Combs.

‘Juicy’ music video

The Notorious B.I.G., aka Biggie Smalls, recorded the “Juicy” music video in Water Mill and New York City.

The Real Deal’s 2021 roundup of “unsellable” Hamptons homes included the Noyac Path estate, noting the interior of its home took on a “1980s mall” feel. The aesthetic and the asking price led Sotheby’s to eventually put it up for sale at auction.

The winning bid accepted in the last week of January didn’t just fetch the nine-acre property featuring the Ito-designed mansion, but also a wooded adjacent six-acre property that has clearing allowance for approximately an 8,000-square-foot home, according to Sotheby’s
