Lessing’s restaurants win 2 digital awards with an assist from GreaterLI

Lessing’s Hospitality Group walked away with two big awards at last week’s Long Island Digital Awards gala through the Long Island Business News.

One of those highly competitive awards was for a video that involved Greater L.I. Promotions, a division of Greater Long Island Media Group, LLC.

A total of 26 awards were handed out during Thursday night’s gala at Villa Lombardi’s in Holbrook.

The Lessing’s award that came in collaboration with Greater L.I.  Promotions was for a 38-second video (above) highlighting football and fun at the company’s Main Street Restaurants, which include five bar-restaurants on the island.

The video was published to GreaterBabylon and shared across all the Greater Long Island flags on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube, as well as through the Lessing’s own social media feeds and the Lessing’s website.

It was shot at Library Café in Farmingdale and the Post Office in Babylon by Benny Migliorino and his team from Benny Migs Photo, in conjunction with the  Lessing’s Marketing Team.

“Looking to create some interest and drive more traffic to our Main Street Restaurant Group during football season, Jen Cantin, director of marketing at Lessing’s Hospitality Group, decided a video would do just that,” read a statement from the company. “Knowing that once the video went viral on all our social media platforms and our website, our fans would just have to visit.

“So, the Lessing’s marketing team worked with Greater Long Island. Together we combined two great creative teams to collaborate and it worked!”

The video won 2nd Place in the Video/Film category.

“I was thrilled to hear about the Lessing’s award Thursday night,” said Michael White, the founder of Greater Long Island Media. “This is a huge company with over a century of history on the island and New York City that’s still willing to work with small, local businesses such as ours. It’s so great our video collaboration got some recognition.”

Lessing’s also tied for 1st place in the Marketing Campaign category for its “12 Days of Christmas,” which offered 12 days of deals for Lessing’s Rewards Program members.

The company, headquartered in Oakdale, operates over two dozen restaurants and catering halls on Long Island alone.

“I look forward to working with Benny and Greater Long island in the coming months to create our next video,” said Cantin.
