Brunch lovers, get ready for a collaboration of delicious proportions.
Later this month, Jam of Massapequa Park is merging with and moving to The Good Life and its authentic, English pub fare, just down the street on Park Boulevard.
Tentatively dubbed “Good morning at The Good Life,” foodies stand to get the best of all meals.
First, with Jam’s breakfast and brunch offerings, available daily from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. with Jam favorites, including omelets, waffles, pancakes and eggs Benedict, as well as avocado toast and a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic breakfast beverages.
And then, starting at noon every day, The Good Life’s well-curated menu will be available, featuring such classic pub dishes as fish & chips, mac ‘n’ cheese, hearty shepherd’s pie and gourmet burgers.
Paul and Anthony Oliva and Peter Mangouranes comprise the ownership team of both Jam and Good Life. They said there were several reasons why they decided to merge the restaurants, which have been in business for 10 and 15 years, respectively.
“Our lease was coming up this year at Jam … and the other issue is space,” explained Paul Oliva, who would go back and forth daily between restaurants while, Anthony handles more of the day-to-day office paperwork and social media.
“Jam is small and can’t really accommodate large groups. One big complaint is that we didn’t have the ability to handle large groups and also people don’t want to wait, especially on weekends,” he continued, adding that there is much more capacity at Good Life and that will translate into shorter wait times.
As for the joint menu, Paul Oliva said it will remain mostly the same with a few tweaks. The owners said they are officially opening Jam in its new spot next week. They are still moving equipment and cross-training staffers.
“So far, people are excited by the impending move,” Paul said. “The majority of people seem to favor it, different atmosphere, same staff, same food and we’ll soon be introducing monthly specials. So, stay tuned.”
