Medford woman, 49, suffers serious injuries in electric scooter crash

A Medford woman riding an electric scooter suffered serious injuries Tuesday when a delivery truck struck her on Lake Drive, police said.

Jennifer Keene, 49, was traveling east on the scooter about 1:25 p.m. when Roger Liburd, 47, of Hempstead, driving a 2019 Ford delivery truck southbound, hit her, according to police. The collision occurred inside Heatherwood Communities’ Medford Pond complex.

Keene was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries. Liburd was not injured.
