Friends and relatives of well-known Long Island businesswoman Tanya I. Bathija will gather Sunday at Maloney’s Lake Funeral Home in Lake Ronkonkoma to remember the young life cut short by a tragic fire.
Bathija was killed on Wednesday when a blaze trapped her inside of her Dix Hills cottage. She was 32.
Visitation will take place at the funeral home, located at 132 Ronkonkoma Avenue, from 10 a.m. to noon. A memory service to honor Bathija is scheduled for 4 p.m. The service will be streamed online.
Bathija recently opened a Dunkin’ Donuts location in Bellport and had another in the works for Blue Point.
She was also involved in both the Bellport and Patchogue chamber of commerces and worked with the Boys and Girls Club and Long Island Head Start. Bathija also participated in a Miss United States competition focused on accomplished professional women.
Bathija is survived by her parents, Gobind and Sonia Bathija, sister Dr. Jessica Bathija and brother-in-law Ameed Sonny.
