Shop Patchogue: The story of Thred boutique in New Village

|

Merav Shiloni is a Fashion Institute of Technology and Patchogue-Medford High School graduate. She’s been interested in fashion since she was a teenager.

When it came time to launch her own shop — and her own brand — she did so in her hometown: Patchogue.

Thred opened in October 2017 at 7 Village Green, in the New Village at Patchogue complex. The boutique offers men’s and women’s fashions and free alterations on-site. “That really sets us apart from other boutiques,” Shiloni says.

Thred also supports local vendors, and this past year, the boutique teamed up with other Patchogue retailers to raise money for nonprofit groups, such as the Long Island chapter of the Pink Aid cancer care organization.

“I urge more retailers to come to Patchogue,” Shiloni says, describing the area as a “really revitalized town where you can walk around, get something to eat, drink, and, now, you could also shop.”
