The LIRR lots in Bay Shore are being paved Nov. 5 and Nov. 12

The long-awaited paving of the Bay Shore railroad parking lot is upon us.

The Town of Islip announced on Friday that paving of the south lot at the Long Island Rail Road station will happen on Sunday, Nov. 5, weather permitting.

“Signs have been posted and flyers have been distributed to commuters, advising all of the long-awaited paving of the Bay Shore Rail Road parking lots,” the announcement reads.

Residents are advised to use the north lot on Sunday, but both lots will be open in time for Monday morning’s commute. Any vehicles left inside the south parking lot after midnight Saturday night will be moved to the North parking lot for pick-up, the town advises.

Then on next Sunday, Nov. 12, the north parking lot will be paved.

Residents are being told to park in the south or northwest lots around the station.

The north lot will re-open in time for that Monday morning’s commute, and vehicles should be removed from the lot on Saturday, Nov. 11, before midnight or they will be moved to the south lot.

“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and we appreciate your cooperation as we continue the beautification  of the Bay Shore Train Station,” the town’s announcement reads.
