Thursday, June 28, will mark the season’s first of four Alive After Five street festivals in Patchogue Village.
Here are some things to know before you go:
• This year, the festival series is being Presented by Blue Point Brewing Co., whose beers will be readily available at the outdoor beer gardens.
• The other Alive After Five dates are July 19, Aug. 2, and Aug 16. Should any one festival be cancelled due to rain, the make-up date will be Aug. 23.

• Each festival runs from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., though live music and the serving of alcohol in the outdoor corrals will be cut off at 9 p.m.
• The festival is held along Main Street from West Avenue to near Rider Avenue, as well as portions of South Ocean and Railroad avenues.
• There will be no Blue Point stage off West Main Street for 2018. This summer, the big stage will be near Stereo Garden and Record Stop just south of Main Street on Railroad Avenue.
• The festival is run by the Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce, which has taken much efforts to alleviate parking issues and congestion by offering free shuttle services. The shuttles will be running from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. from St. Joseph’s College and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church in Patchogue. Click here for more.

• Capital One Plaza, a block west of Rider Avenue on East Main Street, will be serving as H.Q. for each festival’s theme. The first installment’s theme is environmental awareness.
• Related to this year’s first theme, the Congregational Church across from Capital One, along with local veterans’ groups, are asking for donations of individually wrapped Scotts toilet paper. You could drop your donations off at the church. Organizers will be attempting to break the world’s record for the largest T.P. Pyramid during summer’s second Alive After Five.
• The family fun area will be outside the Carnegie Library at West Avenue and West Main Street, where there will be bounce houses, slides, children’s music and activities provided by Patchogue-Medford Library. The entire event is typically stroller friendly from about 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., before the larger crowds.

This summer marks 17th year for Alive After Five in Patchogue, a concept that has since been adopted by the downtown areas of neighboring Riverhead and Bay Shore.
With the backing of chamber leaders in Patchogue, the Riverhead Business Improvement District now runs an Alive on 25 series and downtown Bay Shore plays host to Alive by the Bay, which is run by the Chamber of Commerce of Greater Bay Shore’s restaurant committee.
