Update: The New York Air National Guard extended the flight path for Friday’s flyover on Long Island.

The 106th Rescue Wing will now fly from noon to 2 p.m. and will visit the following locations

The 106th Rescue Wing, a fleet in the New York Air National Guard, will take flight over Long Island on Friday to salute hospital and other frontline workers.

The unit, which is stationed at Francis S. Gabreski Air National Guard Base in Westhampton Beach, will begin its flight demonstration around 12:15 p.m. near Riverhead and end at Jones Beach about 1 p.m., according to a Facebook post by 106th Rescue Wing.

Between those two points, the fleet will fly over Rocky Point, East Setauket, Stony Brook, Holstville, Blue Point, Sayville, Bay Shore and Massapequa.

The aircrafts consist of an HC-130J Combat King II search and rescue airplane and two HH-60G Pave Hawk search and rescue helicopters.
