|

Jack Hayne marked his 100th birthday with a celebration held on Sunday, Jan. 14, at MoCo Asian Bistro in Jericho.

The milestone was officially reached a few days later on Jan. 17, and Nassau County Legislator Arnold W. Drucker paid tribute to the new centenarian.

Drucker took to Facebook to share his sentiments on this significant occasion: “It is an honor to call you a friend Jack Hayne, a proud veteran, husband, father, friend, and inspiration to so many! We thank you for your service and dedication to this nation.”

At the celebration, Drucker presented his pal with an official citation from Nassau County.

A resident of Woodbury, Hayne is a distinguished World War II veteran with a service history spanning from 1943 to 1964 in the Army. He continued involvement in military affairs, actively participating in organizations such as the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Jewish War Veterans, Disabled Veterans of America, and various other veterans service organizations, according to the Syosset Advance.
