Bay Shore schools recognize Girl Scouts for AEDs donation in Brightwaters

|

The 8th graders of the Bay Shore/Brightwaters Girls Scouts Troop 104 have been busy this past year with fundraisers and community outreach projects.

Through their work, the girls raised enough money to purchase two Automated External Defibrillators, or AEDs, for Brightwaters Village, Bay Shore School District announced Friday. The AEDs will be placed at Wohseepee Park and Walker Beach for emergencies.

“They worked tirelessly as a team to achieve this goal, and were all CPR/AED certified by the Bay Shore/Brightwaters Ambulance Corp,” reads the district’s announcement. “They are proud to be a part of this community, and we are equally proud of their character and accomplishments. Way to go, Troop 104!”

The girls set the goal in order to earn the covered Silver Award, the highest honor a Girl Scout Cadette can earn.
