Burrito Mariachi has quietly closed its Patchogue location, which opened as the company’s third in October 2021.
“It’s all dark and has a for-lease sign on it,” a GreaterPatchogue reader informed us this week after heading over for some Tex-Mex food.
A worker at the Burrito Mariachi in Farmingdale confirmed today that the Patchogue location is indeed closed, though the company made no mention of it publicly.
The property at 272 E Main St. is now being marketed for lease by Julianna Chiarelli and Jason Sobel of Ripco Real Estate.
“Fully equipped restaurant + drive thru” with 40 seats, the listing reads.
The Patchogue spot, a former Checkers, closed earlier this month, sources told Greater Long Island.
The company had also previously closed its Massapequa location.
As for Burrito Mariachi, the family-owned restaurant offers a wide array of Mexican food, from tacos to quesadillas and nachos to enchiladas. The concept was founded by Sam Liu, who opened his first Burrito Mariachi in Wantagh in 2011. He has since sold that location, according to prior Greater Long Island reports. Wantagh remains open.
Liu had worked in the food industry since he was 15 before deciding to open a Mexican eatery later in his adult life, he had previously told us.
GLI has reached out to a Burrito Mariachi for any additional details.
The vacated space now available at Village Square is nearly 1,900 square feet, according to the lease listing.
The strip is currently co-occupied by a 7-Eleven and Bethpage Federal Credit Union.
