Not many delis pack sandwiches the way Se-Port Deli does in East Setauket.
We’re talking freshly breaded chicken cutlets, gooey cheeses, zesty condiments and an assortment of sides — all pouring out from between warm pieces of garlic bread.
The widely known Long Island deli has been doing it for over 30 years.

Among the faithful has been Jesse Blaze Snider of the Travel Channel.
Snider recently played host to a Travel Channel episode of Food Paradise: Bun-believable that aired Sept. 17 and featured the Se-Port.
“I’ve been coming here for 17 years now,” Snider says in the episode, “and my 8-year-old daughter’s favorite place to eat on Long Island is Se-Port Deli.”
His favorite hero, over the years, has been a custom order of honey mustard bacon chicken salad with mozzarella on a toasted garlic hero.
It’s since made its way onto the menu at 301 Main Street as the “Snider.”
“I name my heros usually after heroes,” said Se-Port owner and East Setauket resident Sam Dakwar, who has owned Se-Port for the last 19 years.
The episode took viewers behind the scenes to see how it makes its immensely popular creations, such as the “Piccininni,” which consists of chicken cutlets, melted mozzarella, bacon, french fries, coleslaw, with gravy and Russian dressing, all on their signature toasted garlic bread.
Throughout the segment, shot earlier this year, there were shots of chef Brian Adwar cooking up sandwiches for a packed house.
“It was a different experience, when I cook and prepare things it is usually not in front of people,” Adwar told GreaterPortJeff.
“Overall, it was an exciting long day and it was fun.”
