Five emerging Long Island craft breweries to keep an eye on

Named as a tribute to the geologic strata that filters Long Island’s water, Farmingdale’s Lithology prides itself on being a farm brewery sourcing many of their ingredients from NYS farms. In 2017, they won several awards at the New York International Beer Competition, most notably for Best Long Island Brewery.

They boast 10 taps featuring Legal American pale Ale, Lithology’s brown ale, Designated Hitter (a dry hopped pale) and LB IPA as regulars. On deck is a coconut porter as well as Gold Coast IPA and Helles and Back Lager. They also serve wine from select NY wineries. Alas, no food but some bagged snackies.  They do encourage bringing in food from any of the great eateries in the area.

Dog friendly so bring a well-behaved Fido (on leash, of course) and chill!
