A GreaterMoriches team won a Folio Award today for the best use of Instagram.
The Folio Awards, which recognize the best in news and are chosen by educated news consumers, were presented online by the Fair Media Council.
GreaterMoriches Executive Editor Carl Corry and former reporter intern Katherine Hoey, who still freelances for the online news operation, won for their project, our “Father’s Day Reflections” project. The team took portraits of people around East Moriches and Center Moriches and shared brief stories about their subjects’ fathers.
Carol Silva, who retired from News 12 Long Island and recently announced that she beat cancer, was honored with a lifetime achievement award.
