The popular Local Burger Co. in Bay Shore has just announced its staying open late on weekends.
Snacks from the first “Late Night Munchies Menu” will be served up late starting this Friday, Memorial Day weekend, with hours running until 2 a.m. every Friday and Saturday through Labor Day weekend.
Last call for food will be at 1:30 a.m.
This is the first time Local Burger has ever stayed open into the morning hours.
“We felt it was the right time of the year with summer season coming,” said Local Burger co-owner Mike McElwee.
“With people coming and going to Fire Island and young people being off all summer we wanted to be the alternative to the late-night diner after a movie or a concert or just a night out in town.”
The menu will be somewhat limited. There will be burgers, sides and milkshakes to choose from, as well as hot dogs, chicken tenders and chicken sandwiches.
Previously, Local Burger would close around 11 p.m. on weekends.
