|

Two Long Island companies and a woman from Bay Shore claimed huge Powerball second prizes on Monday, according to New York Lottery.

Brandishing a winning ticket purchased at Smokes 4 Less in upstate Newburgh, Huntington’s 3317 Holdings Limited Liability Company claimed a $2 million Powerball Powerplay prize for matching the first five Powerball numbers drawn on Oct. 2.

The optional $1 Powerplay feature enables players to multiply a non-jackpot prize up to 10 times and double the $1 million second prize to $2 million. The winning numbers in the Oct. 2 drawing were 12, 26, 27, 43 and 47; the Power Ball was 05.

Leslie Scurry of Bay Shore claimed a $1 million Powerball second prize for matching the first five numbers picked on Dec. 13. She purchased her winning ticket at Parkway Express, located at 1460 Brentwood Road in Bay Shore.

The winning numbers in the Dec. 13 drawing were 03, 08, 41, 56 and 64; the Powerball was 18.

Ray & Barb Mechanical, Inc., of Hicksville claimed a $1 million second prize for matching the first five Powerball numbers drawn on Dec. 18. The company purchased the winning ticket at AJ7 Wine & Liquor located at 172B Gardiners Ave. in Levittown.

The winning numbers in the Dec. 18 drawing were 05, 08, 19, 34 and 39; the Powerball was 26.

3317 Holdings Limited Liability Company accepted a single lump sum payment of $1.3 million after taxes. Scurry and Ray & Barb Mechanical each received one-time lump sum payments of $651,000.

The Powerball jackpot for tonight’s drawing is over $1 billion. This is the fifth time a Powerball prize has reached that level, lottery officials said.
