The snowfall totals are in.
Long Island was blanketed in fresh snow overnight, with some areas seeing up to 3.2 inches, according to the National Weather Service.
North Babylon recorded the highest snowfall on the Island at 3.2 inches, while Merrick saw Nassau County’s highest total at 2.4 inches. The lowest reported accumulation was in Plainview, which received 1.2 inches.
This marks the second snowstorm in a week, following a weekend storm that brought 5.1 inches of snow to the region.
And more winter weather is on the way. The NWS has issued a winter weather advisory from tonight into Thursday morning, warning of a mix of rain, snow, and sleet. Forecasters predict “rain, snow, and sleet likely before 1 a.m., then rain and sleet between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m., then rain after 4 a.m.”
Snow and sleet accumulation of up to an inch is possible, according to the report.
