The Three Village area is filled with history.
And the Three Village Historical Society wants to show and tell you all about it.
To do so, the organization created the Culper Spy Day festival, designed to showcase America’s first spy ring that was used on Long Island to help General George Washington win the American Revolution.
“The spy ring provided George Washington the information he needed to turn the tide of the American Revolution,” said a spokeswoman from the Three Village Historical Society.
This year’s event, which is the fourth annual, will be held on Saturday, Sept. 15, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Setauket Village Green and the Three Village Historical Society headquarters at 93 North Country Road.
During the self-guided tour, patrons will experience reenactments, colonial cooking presentations, colonial music, blacksmith demonstrations, and more.
Attendees will tour the Caroline Church and witness an historic ceremony. They’ll also be able to check out Stony Brook University’s collection of hand-written letters from George Washington to the Long Island spies, which will also be on display.
An auction is also being held by the historical society for TV memorabilia items from “Turn: Washington’s Spies” at Gallery North at 90 North Country Road.
The sales will occur from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

$25 for adults
$5 for children 6 to 12 years old
Free for kids under six years old
