Two Long Island women are each $1 million richer after claiming big lottery prizes Tuesday in separate New York Lottery games.
AnnaMaria Gjomarkaj of Hempstead won $1 million in the Oct. 1, 2024, Mega Millions drawing, matching the first five numbers — 25, 35, 47, 50, and 66. She missed only the Mega Ball, which was 25.
Gjomarkaj — who traveled to Smokes 4 Less in Newburgh to buy her second-prize winning ticket — received a lump sum payout of $651,000 after required withholdings.
Ann Hickson of Roosevelt claimed a top prize on the New York Lottery’s Bonus 20X scratch-off game. She received a one-time lump sum payment of $434,057 after withholdings.
Hickson bought the ticket at the 7-Eleven located at 644 Jerusalem Ave. in Uniondale.
Two $1 million top prizes remain on the Bonus 20X scratch-off ticket. Players can check the status of any New York Lottery scratch-off game by downloading the Game Report at nylottery.ny.gov.
