Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace is doing its part to keep the Tri-State employed.
The grocer is in growth mode, and plans are in the works to welcome 1,000 new employees across its stores in Nassau and Suffolk counties, Westchester and New Jersey.
To kick things off, Uncle G’s, as its affectionately known, hosted its first-ever storewide hiring day on Saturday, Nov. 1, with on-the-spot interviews at every location.
“Long Island is our home,” said Mike Nelson, president of Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace. “In the year ahead, we plan to welcome 1,000 new team members as we open stores in Bohemia, Greenvale, and Levittown.
“Every hire strengthens our promise to care for guests like family and to serve food at its freshest every day. From our kitchens and counters to our registers and aisles, we’re looking for friendly people who love great food and enjoy making someone’s day.”
Positions are available in every department — including bakery, deli, prepared foods, seafood, produce, catering, grocery and front end — with both full-time and part-time roles being offered.
Those who are unable to attend planned hiring day events in-person can apply anytime through the company’s Careers page.
Uncle Giuseppe’s currently operates 11 stores across New York and New Jersey.
The Bohemia store, in Sayville Plaza, is set to open in November. The Uncle G’s in Greenvale is opening early 2026.
The opening for Levittown will then happen later in 2026.
From there, Greater Long Island confirmed earlier this year that the company is looking elsewhere in the U.S.
