Oyster Bay’s acclaimed 2 Spring restaurant is certainly now more enchanting than ever.
After an extensive renovation, Chef Jesse Schenker and partner Claudia Taglich last month unveiled the newly transformed space in the heart of Oyster Bay, marrying old-world glamour with modern sophistication, a press announcement reads.
“We wanted to evolve the space while staying true to its original spirit,” said Taglich. “Every design element reflects a connection to the surroundings and our personal history.”
How it happened
2 Spring opened to fanfare in 2018, quickly emerging as a dining staple in the Oyster Bay foodie scene.
Still, Taglich was seeking to evolve the space, hence the renovations.
The reopening followed a redesign led by New York City-based architecture studio Sugarhouse. The designers drew inspiration from the village’s history and nearby coastline, according to a press announcement.
Inside, guests will find a new bar topped with Calacatta Turquoise marble, custom Murano glass chandeliers in indigo hues, and a mural by local artist Oksana Danziger that nods to the cloudy sea skies.
The redesign also includes a new second-floor club space — not strictly members-only, but more intimate — accessible by a staircase wrapped in a scenic wallcovering by Temple Studio.
Floor-to-ceiling drapes and custom lounge seating aim to offer a cozy, upscale feel.
