Loretta is as local as local gets. She has a farm stand on Union Boulevard and takes texts and phone calls from regulars with requests. If someone shows up at the stand asking for something and it’s not on the table, Loretta will walk out to her farm and pick it right from the soil for them.
The produce she offers are swiss chard, lettuce, cabbage, kale, sweet potatoes, zucchini, more than 10 varieties of tomatoes, and red and yukon gold potatoes. Loretta makes her own zucchini bread, pumpkin bread and pumpkin bread, with a little advance notice.
Visitors can also get onions, garlic and pumpkins. All of the produce sold is organic or at least organically grown, and she brings in local honey from hives overseen by the Long Island Beekeepers Club.
