It took longer than expected, but Ghost Town Coffee is finally pouring in Kings Park.
The new coffee shop opened last week across from the Kings Park LIRR station, a year after owner Chloe Rain McGeehan first hoped to welcome customers inside.
“After months of delays, setbacks, inspections, and a whole lot of patience … we’re finally ready to open,” the shop wrote on Instagram.
McGeehan, of Sound Beach, has been working in Long Island restaurants since she was 15. When Greater Long Island first spoke with her in November 2024, she was preparing to bring her longtime coffee shop dream to life inside a 1,500-square-foot space in the heart of Kings Park.
The concept had already been years in the making.
“I’ve worked in a couple different coffee shops,” McGeehan told GLI at the time. “There was one I worked in that really inspired my love for coffee, and I just thought that eventually I wanted to do something like that myself.”

Ghost Town Coffee leans into McGeehan’s love of Western culture, with a name and look that stand out from the usual coffee shop feel. The storefront’s hand-painted sign, featuring a skull sprouting flowers, had already been catching eyes long before opening day.
Inside, the shop mixes that rustic Ghost Town identity with a relaxed North Shore vibe.
The menu includes coffee, teas, seasonal lattes and baked goods from local bakeries.
McGeehan previously said she wanted to build something different from the national chains, with more of a neighborhood feel.
“That’s one of the things I really want to do,” she told GLI. “Create a space in town that’s not a bar, where you can hang out with your friends and relax.”
Now, after a long wait, Kings Park has it. And it was jam packed for the opening. Keep scrolling for a look inside Ghost Town Coffee.
